Weekly Blog: 30th June to 4th July 2025
This week we have continued to take a dive underwater and learnt all about life in the ocean. Each day we have focused on a particular sea creature. Activities we have done include, alongside other child initiated activities: On Monday we learnt all about dolphins, their habitats and what they eat On Tuesday we learnt all about starfish, made starfish, learnt about where they live and what they eat. On Wednesday we learnt all about crabs, made paper plate crabs, did a movement activity based on creatures in the sea. On Thursday we learnt about Octopus, we made Octopus' and learnt about their life cycle. We learnt facts about different sea creatures and played under the sea interactive games. On Friday we focused on stingrays, we moved like a stingray and reviewed what we had learnt about other sea creatures. Throughout the week we have played lots of puzzles and games, linked our topic to maths activities and phonics as well as reading sea based stories. We have focused on mark making and early writing, encouraging older children to recognise and write their name as well as forming other letters We have enjoyed lots of outside play and music and movement. Role play has been based around the kitchen and building and dressing up has been enjoyed by the children.
