Weekly Blog: Week beginning 6th of January 2025 to the 17th of January 2025
This half we will focus on three topics, each lasting two weeks, the first topic focusing on Space.
Activities we have done include:
- looking at the moon and the different phases of the moon
- paper plate moon craft
- enjoying role playing in our space station
- building rockets with wooden blocks
- playing with moon dust (kinetic sand)
- jolly phonic songs and singing nursery rhymes
- lots of space themed pictures and paintings
- reading Space themed stories and looking at non-fiction space books
- music, movement and action songs
- looking at our light box, experimenting with making patterns on it and different colours
- learning our space themed songs
- mark making and pencil control activities
- making space helmets
- watching a video of a NASA rocket being launched
- looking at google earth and finding our preschool
- designing rockets
- enjoying moving as if we were in space
- making a giant junk model rocket
- learning facts about the planets in our solar system
- playing space games and puzzles
- lots of mark making
- matching numerals to quantities of objects (up to ten)
- listening games
- rhyming games
- counting games
