Weekly Blog: 17th January 2020
This week the children have settled back into their routine and have been busy and productive.
Activities have included:
  • listening to our story of the week: Dear Zoo
  • lots of mark making and practicing writing names
  • counting out numbers in a group and focusing on our number of the week:7
  • lots of painting with pegs and cotton wool
  • the children have enjoyed role playing in the home corner and also role playing weddings with the dressing up clothes and fabrics
  • learning about our shape of the week, a pentagon.
  • practicing recognising our letter sound of the week: e. Copying it, finding pictures with the initial letter sound. Singing the jolly phonics song and spotting it in the environment are a few ways we have been learning the weekly letter
  • being very creative at the art table and creating a giant Elmer in preparation for next weeks book of the week
  • creating lots patterns and practicing using tools safely with tap-a-shape
  • building with construction toys outside as well as the usual water and sand play

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your childs key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress.

NOTICE: We are aiming to recruit new Trustees so that we can have a handover period with our remaining Trustees to help with continuity. We need Trustees in order to remain open and we greatly appreciate our Trustees for their time and commitment. If you are interested in taking on a role now or in the future then please speak to Julia or one of our existing Trustees: Mallika Sumner, Laura Evans, Lisa Steptoe and Catlina Nickson.

Hoping you all have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Jackie and Amy
