Weekly Blog: 10th January 2020
This week the children have returned from their Christmas break ready to
play with their friends and enjoy the new games and activities. Activities have included:
- listening to our story of the week: Whatever next
- recognising names on the new star name cards
- counting pom poms into numbered cups
- describing and recognising different smells with our smelly pots
- playing lotto games and completing puzzles
- learning about our shape of the week, an oval.
- practicing recognising our letter sound of the week: c k. Copying it,
finding pictures with the initial letter sound. Singing the jolly
phonics song and spotting it in the environment are a few ways we have
been learning the weekly letter
- role playing in our extended home corner
- learning our number of the week: 6
- being very creative at the art table making magic wands, decorating
calendars and lots of other imaginative craft using the resources in the
art area
- playing with hoops outside as well as the usual water and sand play
- discussing similarities and differences and focusing on individual
features before creating self portraits
As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the
children participate in during the week. Please speak to your childs key
person if you would like to have further information about your child's
interests and progress.
NOTICE: We are aiming to recruit new Trustees so that we can have a
handover period with our remaining Trustees to help with continuity. We
need Trustees in order to remain open and we greatly appreciate our
Trustees for their time and commitment. If you are interested in taking
on a role now or in the future then please speak to Julia or one of our
existing Trustees: Mallika Sumner, Laura Evans, Lisa Steptoe and Catlina
Nickson.
Hoping you all have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Jackie and Amy
