Weekly Blog: 9th October 2020

This week has been busy, active and fun. The activities we have participated in have included:
  • playing outside in the rain in our rainsuits and wellies which was a lot of fun, especially in the mud kitchen!
  • chalking in the front playground and playing parachute games
  • matching 2d shapes to their 3d counterpart
  • finding names on carrots in the sand tray
  • phonics 1 games and activities and singing the jolly phonics songs
  • number recognition games and matching quantity to numerals
  • dancing to action songs
  • naming and recognising colours, sorting and matching them and focusing on our colour of the week - pink
  • yoga
  • listening games based on different musical instruments and the initial letter sounds in words
  • continuing to make up our own stories at group time and drawing pictures relating to the stories afterwards
  • playing group games such as 'jack be nimble' and 'honey bear'
  • water painting outside
  • playing fun memory games such as having a collection of objects and hiding them under fabric, one object is removed and the children have to guess what it is
  • playing guess the object - having a selection of objects in a bag and the children put their hand in and (ideally without looking) guess what it is
  • continuing to develop recognising the properties of shapes
  • some of the children chose to make textured hedgehogs in the craft area and also practiced their cutting skills

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing.
We are looking forward to seeing you all next week. Hoping you all have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Hannah, Jackie and Amy
