Weekly Blog: 12th February 2021

This week we have learnt about Chinese New Year, this year is the year of the Ox, and celebrated Valentines Day.
As well as this we have:
  • practised matching numeral to quantity
  • discussed the differences in length and size
  • matched pictures to initial letter sounds
  • talked about our weekend in a group circle time and our past experiences
  • moved to music with different actions
  • learnt about the race of the 12 animals and why and how Chinese New Year is celebrated
  • played lots of phonics games and sang phonics songs
  • decorated dragon masks
  • made paper lanterns
  • decorated biscuits
  • played listening games
  • enjoyed playing with hoops and balls outside
  • been creative while painting and looking at colour mixing
  • enjoyed lots of stories, songs and rhymes

We will be collecting bottles for another bottle tombola for Comic Relief on March the 19th. We would appreciate your support and donations. More information will follow after half term as to how we will be involving the children in Comic Relief.
As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing.
We hope you have a restful half term break and we look forward to seeing you again on the 22nd of February.
Hoping you all have a lovely weekend. Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Hannah, Jackie and Amy
