Weekly Blog: 5th Febraury 2021

This week we has been Children's Mental Health Week. We have incorporated this into our planning as well as focusing on the seven areas of development and the childrens individual interests.

This week we have:

  • taken part in calm meditation
  • discussed what we are thankful for and drew a picture of it
  • played rhyming games and listened to rhyming stories
  • played listening games
  • created a new display board about being kind and helpful
  • did a follow up meditation where we focusing on cooling down and relaxing and blowing away anger
  • made steering wheels and then practised our stopping and starting skills developing our listening and attention
  • talked about spreading kindness, the people we love and the nice things they do for us and how it makes us feel
  • developing rhyming further by picking out an object and having to search for another one that rhymes with it
  • had quiet time listening to nature music and watching floating dust particles
  • talking about what makes us happy and decorating leaves and clouds to put our thoughts on
  • played I-spy phonics
  • talked about fire safety and what to do in an emergency
  • made a fire engine display
  • phonics songs
  • playing instruments and singing
  • action songs
  • action games
  • lots of outdoor fun
