Weekly Blog: 10th September 2021
The staff team are pleased to report that we have had a successful start to the term and the children are settling in very well, the children have had fun with lots of free play as they get used to the setting and we have appreciated the support from the parents and families at drop off as we realise this can be a tricky time of the day for new children, but we are very impressed with the way they have adapted to the environment and the staff team. The system of dropping the children off at the door in the morning is working well, the staff are able to engage and interact with the children straight away in a calm environment and therefore we will continue our procedure of parents and carers not entering the setting in the morning.

However, we have also reviewed our collecting procedures and covid pprocedures. We realise pick up can be a busy time and so we are asking that no more than four parents enter the building at collection at any one time. If you are happy for your child to be sent out to you please speak to the staff member on the door. Please note that we are happy to welcome all parents and carers into the setting at collection time but feel it is appropriate to limit how many people are in the building at any one time to maintain social distancing. Thank you for your understanding regarding this matter.

  • listened to stories
  • enjoyed playing in the sandpit and exploring the outside area
  • listened to stories
  • sung songs and played with bubbles
  • enjoyed constructing with blocks and duplo
  • enjoyed painting, sponging, sticking and drawing in the craft area
  • enjoyed making new friends and we have focused on creating positive relationships. This week has been all about getting to know each other

NOTICE: Due to recent changes in bookings this week we have a few free sessions left available this year. If you would like to book your child in for now, or next term, please email Julia as soon as possible at admin@chestertonplaygroup.org.uk

Please could you also bring in a photo of your child having fun in the holidays or at the weekend, with or withour family. We are hoping to make a photo book for the children that they can look at in the reading area and it will provide a great talking point for them to show their new friends their pictures.

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing.

Hoping you all have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Hannah, Jackie and Amy
