This week we have been learning about Chinese new year and our theme of

after
- went on a treasure hunt focusing on letter sounds
- we looked at verb picture cards and focused on he and she
- enjoyed yoga
- used picture cards to sort things into different categories
- created tiger patterns with paint
- decorated Chinese lanterns
- decorated dragon masks
- lots of phonic activities including throwing a ball and naming a
picture that they can see on it and then recognising and sounding out
the initial letter sound
- continuing to enjoy listening CD games such as listening for animal
noises or environmental sounds
there has been a lot of construction this week with giant foam blocks
- the children put numbers on lucky red envelopes
- played the instrument listening game
- singing with musical instruments and focusing on loud, quiet and
rhythmns
- playing a spelling game
- the art area has continued to be busy with lots of gluing, painting,
cutting and crafting, in particular this week drawing and creating
glittery space pictures have been popular
As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the
children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's
key person if you would like to have further information about your
child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person
for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback
on how your child is progressing.
Hoping you all have a lovely weekend. Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon,
Lisa, Hannah, Jackie and Amy
