Weekly Blog: 25th March 2022
This week we have spent a lot of time outside enjoying the lovely
weather, we have also:
- enjoyed a visit from two lambs and two calves that were kindly brought
in by Chris Hawes. The children enjoyed feeding them and they spent a
lot of time with them in the front playground.
- enjoyed games based on farmyard animals such as lotto
- lots of discussions about animals and describing them
- drawing farmyard animals
- matching pictures of farmyard animals to their babies
- focusing on healthy eating the children had a circle time sorting real
food into healthy and unhealthy categories, this was then followed up by
an activity where the children could choose what foods to put in their
imaginary lunchbox
- the children have enjoyed playing various action games such as 'jack be
nimble'
- also various music and movement activities to encourage health and
fitness
- there has been a lot of fun with play dough this week
- phonics activities have been popular including listening games and
phonic songs
- the children have participated in various craft activities
- there has been lots of outside play including chalking on our new chalk
boards, balancing, riding bikes, playing in the sandpit, playing catch
with balls and playing games with skittles and mini golf
- lots of imaginative play in the construction role play area
- musical instruments have continued to be popular
As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the
children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's
key person if you would like to have further information about your
child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person
for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback
on how your child is progressing. Hoping you all have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Hannah, Jackie and Amy
