Weekly Blog: 17th June 2022
This week we have been following the children interests and focusing on the book of the week: The three little pigs. We have also:
  • built houses and structures in our building role play area
  • created houses for the little pigs at our play dough table
  • played with the small world little pigs table and created house shapes with lollipop sticks
  • focused on recognising numbers and number rhymes. Using the giant number line we also matched numerals and numicon and placed them in the correct postion
  • playing musical instruments, playing them during the 3 little pigs story when the wolf blows. The children focused on soft and loud noises and stop and go instructions
  • enjoyed lots of stories, rhymes and singing
  • describing characters and plot when looking at a story sace
  • sang phonic songs and enjoyed phonic games
  • created fun train tracks for the trains
  • during our circle times this week we have discussed healthy eating and played a mystery game with real food
  • lots of fun playing outside in the sandpit, riding bikes and scooters, playing ring games and ball games. Also catching bubbles, chalking outside the front and dancing with ribbons
  • developed pencil control with fine motor activities and lots of opportunities for mark making
  • as always there has been a lot of fun at the creative table with paint, glitter, gluing, cutting, mark making, paint dabbers, drawing and stamping. The children really do enjoy choosing their own resources from the craft area. The children also made mini puppets with lollipop sticks for the story the three little pigs

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing. Hoping you all have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Hannah, Jackie and Amy
