Weekly Blog: 15th July 2022
This week we have been following the children interests and focusing on the book of the week: What the Ladybird heard at the seaside.
We have also:
  • played with models of ocean animals in our water play
  • made ice cream cones in our sandpit
  • as we had a lot of water play with played with sponges as well, this also inspired a lot of outside cleaning!
  • made playdough models related to the story
  • played lots of listening games, used sound cards and action games
  • we read the book portside pirates and played with pirate masks and had pirate role play, including playing walk the plank. The children also enjoyed the story pirate love underpants
  • at circle time we talked about going to the beach, what we would find at the seaside and safety in the sun and at the beach
  • lots of water and sand play outside
  • enjoyed lots of stories, rhymes and singing
  • enjoyed phonics songs and games
  • had physical activities such as doing the animal bop
  • focused on repeating patterns using the threading beads
  • played dominoes
  • created lovely seaside pictures with paint
  • at circle time we talked about holidays with our family
  • as always there has been a lot of fun at the creative table with the children choosing from the resources available
As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing. Hoping you all have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Hannah, Jackie and Amy
