Weekly Blog: 9th September 2022
This week we have been getting to know the new children and reconnecting with the returning ones and finding out all about their interests. We have also focused on the book of the week: Elmer.
We have also:
  • played in the garden in the mud kitchen, built with foam bricks, played physical games and rode bikes and scooters
  • talked about what we have done in the summer holidays and learnt all about the childrens families
  • discussed what we look like and drew self portraits
  • had fun role playing in the home corner and also playing hairdressers
  • played listening games and listened and danced to music
  • painted our hands, which are unique, and talked about our favourite things
  • learnt about our similarities and differences
  • made paintings of our favourite animals
  • read the story: the little white owl which focus on celebrating differences
  • sang phonic songs
  • listened to lots of stories
  • looked at story cards *looked at and learnt about 2d shapes
  • used compare bears to sort, count and complete repeating patterns
  • modelled with play dough
  • read: the suitcase of belongings and talked about what we are good at
  • as always there has been a lot of fun at the creative table with the children choosing from the resources available
As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing. Hoping you all have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Hannah and Amy
