Weekly Blog: 5th July 2024
This term we are focusing on transition and independence. Our theme of the week has been focused on life on the five senses and science experiments.
Some of the things the children have enjoyed doing include:
  • learning about the five senses and sorting pictures of what we do in a day to which primary sense we use for it
  • building a castle in the clouds with wooden bricks among shaving foam
  • getting model animals out of frozen ice
  • looking at water play, floating and sinking
  • creating a rainbow using food colouring and kitchen roll and exploring what happens when you mix colours
  • making a lemon volcano using real lemons
  • learning about bees and pollination using finger models of bees, pictures of flowers and crushed cheesy puffs on little fingers to show how pollen spreads
  • exploring our breath and condensation
  • bubble painting with straws
  • phonics games and reading practice continue
  • matching numerals to the correct number of objects and maths activities continue
  • lots of fun painting, sticking, gluing and mark making fun
  • lots of circle time and small group games
  • lots of phonics activities
  • making a tent outside
  • having a nature walk
  • exploring sensory play and messy play activities.
Please see some ideas attached for things to do in the holidays and ideas to do with children moving up to school.

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing.
Hoping you all have a lovely weekend. Best wishes, Julia, Claire, Hannah, Lisa, Jackie and Adam
