Weekly Blog: 12th July 2024
This term we are focusing on transition and independence. Our theme of the week has been focused on transitioning to school.
Some of the things the children have enjoyed doing include:
  • talking about the general election and having a voting station to vote for each teacher's manifesto for being in charge of the country. Julia won with a vote of everyone getting paid a million pounds, a four day working week and cake every Friday!
  • looked at more and less
  • positional language
  • lots of pencil control activities and mark making
  • matching letters and learning about letter sounds
  • building outside with lots of giant duplo, construction tools and wooden blocks
  • playing simon says outside with the children talking turns to be simon
  • lots of listening games
  • circle times activities
  • phonics games and reading practice continue
  • matching numerals to the correct number of objects and maths activities continue
  • lots of fun painting, sticking, gluing and mark making fun
  • lots of circle time and small group games
  • lots of phonics activities
  • lotto games, puzzles, board games

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing.
Hoping you all have a lovely weekend. Best wishes, Julia, Claire, Hannah, Lisa, Jackie and Adam
