Weekly Blog: Week beginning 17th to the 21st of March 2025
This week we have enjoyed Minibeasts as a topic.

Activities we have done include:

  • learning about slugs and snails, their habitats, what they eat and how they help the environment
  • going on a slug and snail hunt
  • naming parts of a snail
  • drawing snails
  • learning about St Patricks Day and making a shamrock collage
  • learning how to do some Irish dancing
  • learning about different minibeast habitats
  • reading lots of stories based on minibeasts such as 'what the ladybird heard'
  • playing a game based on where a minibeast is hiding
  • learning about spiders and the life cycle of a spider
  • jolly phonic songs and singing nursery rhymes
  • naming parts of a spider
  • singing spider songs
  • music, movement and action songs
  • drawing spiders
  • making handprint spiders
  • learning about ladybirds
  • making paper plate ladybirds
  • counting spots on ladybirds
  • cutting/sticking ladybirds
  • lots of name recognition activities and name writing practice
  • learning about bees
  • making pictures of bees
  • making honey biscuits
