Weekly Blog: Week beginning 10th to the 14th of March 2025
This week we have enjoyed Science week as a topic.
Activities we have done include:
- floating and sinking and testing different materials
- created a volcano experiment
- making cup phones to test vibrations
- lots of puzzles and games
- modelling with play dough
- drawing self portraits
- reading a story about how the Earth has evolved
- measuring height and length
- size ordering different objects
- measuring fake bones
- jolly phonic songs and singing nursery rhymes
- reading the story Titch and completing linked measuring activities
- lots of small world play
- music, movement and action songs
- colour mixing sweets experiment
- sticking activity completing smallest to tallest
- colour mixing painting
- learning about number bonds to five
- sorting materials into categories such as hard/soft and rough and smooth etc
- making rainbow bracelets and necklaces
- lots of name recognition activities and name writing practice
- making gloop
- investigating magnets, what is magnetic and not
- making balloon rockets
- learning about Purim
- making musical shakers
- creating a fizzy volcano with cola and mentos
- learning about Holi
