Weekly Blog: 23rd April to 9th May 2025
For the past two weeks we have enjoyed Maths as a topic.

Activities we have done include, alongside other child initiated activities:

  • focused on fast recognition of up to 3 objects
  • counting up to ten objects
  • focused on finding the total of a group of objects up to 10
  • experimented with symbols and marks
  • compared quantities, such as more and less
  • looked at naming and recognising the quantities of 2d and 3d shapes
  • sorted items by size, length, weight and capacity
  • looked at patterns in the environment and completed a repeating pattern
  • made maps of where we live and described familiar routed
  • looked at one more and one less than an amount up to ten
  • looked at positional language *enjoyed playing outside
  • lots of counting games, songs, puzzles and rhymes
  • spotting numbers in the environment
  • enjoyed lots of painting, gluing and drawing
  • there was lots of small world play with cars, garages and dinosaurs!
  • lots of dressing up fun
  • jolly phonic songs and singing nursery rhymes
