Weekly Blog: 30th June 2023
This week we have had a weekly topic all based on independence skills and the transition to school. We have:
  • how we get ready to go to school and playgroup and how we travel there
  • practised lining up and our listening skills
  • talked about rules and boundaries and making friends
  • enjoyed completing sheets such as all about me
  • talked about what it would be like at school and looked at photos
  • gone on a name hunt and practised writing our names
  • enjoyed maths and phonics activities
  • enjoyed fine motor activities to develop pencil control
  • talked about healthy food and what to put in a lunchbox
  • practised our cutting skills and mark making
  • enjoyed counting and number games and rhymes
  • enjoyed lots of outside play
  • numbered pictures and practised number formation
  • listened to initial sounds
  • moved to music and enjoyed action songs
  • enjoyed dancing and listening to music
  • had lots of stories, looked at books and had a lot of fun in the craft area painting, drawing and sticking

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing.

Hoping you all have a lovely weekend. Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa,
