Weekly Blog: 15th to 19th September 2025
This week we have focused on physical skills, continuing to build on friendships and having lots of fun games and activities.
Activities we have enjoyed include, alongside other child initiated activities are:
- investigated our texture tuff tray, a great opportunity to use descriptive words
- used a feely bag to guess what object is missing
- we have learnt about going to the dentists, what they do and how to look after and brush our teeth
- outside we have enjoyed throwing and catching balls
- we have developed fine motor skills by practicing using scissors
- we have discussed at circle time what we have had for dinner and talked about healthy food
- we cut out pictures of food to make a healthy dinner plate
- we made paper crowns after reading the smartest giant in town by Julia Donaldson
- we sorted pictures of food into healthy and unhealthy food groups
- we learnt about where certain foods come from
- we sorted picture to sequence how to brush our teeth
- the children have continued to enjoy drawing, making pictures with glue and stickers, stamping with ink and lots of mark making
- we have enjoyed throwing bean bags into buckets
- we have enjoyed circle time listening games
- listened to story cds
- role play has been based around the dentists and dressing up has been enjoyed by the children. They have also enjoyed puzzles, construction and music along with lots of stories, dancing and singing.
- we have also enjoyed number games and matching numbers to objects
