Weekly Blog: 28th September to 2nd October 2026
This week we have enjoyed learning about different decades.
On Monday we travelled back to the 1950's, we looked at black and white pictures from the era. We learnt about what people ate in the 1950s, what school was like, what toys children played with and what games they played. We danced to 1050s music and played games including hopscotch and hula hooping. On Tuesday we travelled back to the 1960s. We learnt how to dance to sixties songs. We learnt all about the culture of the decade and the toys children had and the games they played. We enjoyed fun games like indoor basketball and enjoyed looking at pictures from the era. On Wednesday we travelled back to the 1970s, looking at fashion, what television children watched and the toys they played with. We learnt to dance to disco music and we enjoyed creating pop art pictures. We played a lovely game of hide and seek in the hall and we enjoyed lots of bike riding outside. On Thursday we travelled back to the 1980s. We made pictures with stickers, played with action figures and Barbies. We listened to 1980s music and had a mini party. We learnt about popular games children played and what programmes they may have watched and we looked at pictures of the era. We also went for the walk around the village and enjoyed looking at what was growing in the allotments. On Friday we travelled back to the 1990s. We learnt all about children's toys, games and programmes. We enjoyed listening to 90s songs and having a mini party. We looked at pictures of the era and what people wore. It has been a great week to learn about changes through time, how technology has changed and what life was like for family members in a different decade. Most activities are available throughout the weeks for all of the children to enjoy. We also throughout the week:
