Weekly Blog: 5th to 9th October 2026

This week we have enjoyed learning about healthy eating and people who help us.

This week we:
  • talked about healthy eating and going to the dentist
  • sorted items of food into healthy and non healthy categories
  • talked about how to keep our teeth healthy and how to brush them
  • enjoyed fruit tasting
  • talked about people who help us
  • learnt about what fire people do and make paper plate firemen
  • practised again our fire drill
  • learnt about paramedics
  • made a craft ambulance out of different shapes
  • made x-ray handprint pictures
  • gave our teddies first aid
  • learnt about the police
  • made a wanted poster
  • made police fingerprint pictures
  • role played being a police officer

Most activities are available throughout the weeks for all of the children to enjoy.

We also throughout the week:
  • Built train tracks
  • Played with Barbies
  • Matched numbers to our sensory number blocks
  • Enjoyed using the bikes and scooters outside
  • Completed lots of puzzles
  • Did a lot of mark making in various forms: water painting, wipe board marking, pencils, pens, tracing patterns
  • Enjoyed movement, music and dancing
  • Focused on fine motor skill activities such as threading and using tweezers
  • Played lots of matching games
  • Played lotto games
  • Had lots of free craft including painting and creating some lovely artwork
  • Enjoyed lots of running games and ball games in the garden, along with counting games and action songs.
  • We listened to lots of stories and looked at books
  • Enjoyed lots of fun phonological activities
