Weekly Blog: 6th December 2019
This week the children have continued to be tenacious and jovial in
their play. Activities have included:
- listening to our story of the week, the tiger who came to tea, and
using the linked items on the literacy shelf which included stick
puppets, a toy tiger, story sequencing cards, a matching game,
invitations the children could write for a tea party and a word mat.
- learning about the advent of Christmas, and using our around the world
advent calendar at circle time to learn about people in different
countries.
- lots of listening games, dancing to Christmas music and singing
- the children have been listening to lots of Christmas stories
- learning about our shape of the week, a triangle. We have drawn it,
named it and found it in the environment as well as played a few other
shape games
- learning about recycling and sorting objects to the correct bin using
an interactive game
- practicing recognising our letter of the week: t. Copying it, finding
pictures with the initial letter sound. Singing the jolly phonics song
and spotting it in the environment are a few ways we have been learning
the weekly letter
- continuing to make tea in our role play tea shop area
- learning our number of the week: 3
- making Christmas gifts for our families
- being very creative at the art table
As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the
children participate in during the week. Please speak to your childs key
person if you would like to have further information about your childs
interests and progress.
