Weekly Blog: 20th December 2019
This week the children have continued to be joyful and bouncy in their play. Activities have included:

  • listening to our story of the week: Bear stays up for Christmas
  • playing with Christmas items on our sensory Christmas tuff tray
  • making Christmas cookies on the play dough table
  • lots of listening games, dancing to Christmas music and singing
  • the children have continued to listen to, and enjoy, lots of Christmas stories
  • learning about our shape of the week, a rectangle. We have drawn it, named it and found it in the environment as well as played a few other shape games
  • practicing recognising our letter of the week: i. Copying it, finding pictures with the initial letter sound. Singing the jolly phonics song and spotting it in the environment are a few ways we have been learning the weekly letter
  • continuing to make tea in our role play tea shop area
  • learning our number of the week: 5
  • being very creative at the art table
As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your childs key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress.

NOTICE: we are CLOSED on Monday the 6th of January for our staff inset day. The children are back in session on Tuesday the 7th of January 2020.

We would like to wish all of you a happy and safe Christmas. We are thankful for the support the playgroup families give to the setting and we would like to give a big thank you for the gifts we have received for Christmas.

So from all of us to all of you, we wish you a very HAPPY CHRISTMAS!
Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Jackie and Amy
