Weekly Blog: 23rd October 2020

Chesterton PlaygroupThis week has been our last week before the half term break and the activities we have participated in have included:

  • scooping out, investigating and decorating pumpkins
  • activities based around the story 'room on a broom' by Julia Donaldson
  • a lot of building with duplo, creating train tracks and playing with cars
  • phonics 1 games and activities and singing the jolly phonics songs
  • recognising and naming logos
  • naming and recognising colours, sorting and matching them and focusing on our colour of the week - black
  • fun glittery art and craft
  • lots of stories, songs and rhymes
  • fun role playing outside

Over the half term break if you are indoors and a little stuck for an idea for an activity you can search activities on the Hungry Little Minds website and for parents there are some interesting articles on the BBC website covering a range of themes from starting school, sleep problems, building resilience in your child as well as games and activities for children.

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing.

We are looking forward to seeing you all after half term. Hoping you have a restful break.

Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Hannah, Jackie and Amy
