Weekly Blog: 30th April 2021

It has been a lovely week and the children have been very busy and active. We have celebrated the new fence in the garden made by Chris and Oleg, who we extend our thanks too, and we have also enjoyed a fundraising afternoon with the children, the total of this will follow shortly.

This week we have:
  • Enjoyed mark making in the front playground with chalk and water
  • Completed a lot of phonics activities, one being our tuff tray with lotto on where we matched the initial letter sound to pictures
  • Practiced writing in a variety of ways, including on wipe boards, paper and in mud!
  • Completed a lot of puzzles
  • Enjoyed ball games outside
  • Taken turns to play golf
  • Learnt about animals on the farm, played games around this, we also made paper plate animal faces
  • Practised our number recognition and matching number pebbles to numicon
  • Sang songs and enjoyed action songs
  • Had a circle time based on telling the time and focused on learning o'clock
  • Practised our scissor skills
  • Repeated fine motor activities to help develop strength in fingers, these included linking chains, tweezers, using pegs and popping bubble wrap
  • Learnt how to use gardening tools
  • Made lots of drawing, painting and mixing colours
  • Listened to lots of stories and rhymes, rhyming games and discussing the structure of stories and drawing pictures of characters or scenes in a story we have listened to

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing.

Hoping you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend. We will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday.

Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Hannah, Jackie and Amy
