Weekly Blog: 11th June 2021
It has been a lovely sunny week at playgroup and the children have enjoyed playing with the sand and water outside. Playing with the water sparked an interest in animals that live in the water so this week we have learnt a lot about life in the ocean.
This week we have:
- enjoyed making ocean pictures, creating coral pictures for our display board and also drawing pictures of animals in the ocean.
- enjoyed lots of craft including painting, glitter, glue and cutting
- participated in phonics games and matching letters to three letter phonic words on our tuff tray
- lots of puzzles and board games have been popular
- practised our technology and directional skills by programming bee bots on our second weekly tuff tray activity
- looked at a power point at circle time which helped us learn abut animals in the ocean
- played a game on the computer spotting animals in the ocean and watched a short three min video of people diving with whales so we could see how big they were
- enjoyed making pretend tea with outside resources in the garden
- played in the giant sand pit
- played tennis and enjoyed catching bubbles in the garden
- practised our handwriting skills with mark making, the wipe boards were very popular this week
- learnt about what objects would sink and float in our water tray outside
- listened to lots of stories, sang songs and celebrated birthdays!
The playgroup team would really like to thank Simon Dancer who has been helping us with the garden and digging away in some fairly hot weather!
Thank you from all of us.
A polite reminder, please can all hats and water bottles be labelled to help us match them to the correct child. Thank you.
As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing.
Hoping you all have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Hannah, Jackie and Amy
