Weekly Blog: 1st October 2021
This week we have continued to learn about Autumn as the weather has changed this week.

This week we have:
  • focused on colours, particularly Autumn colours and continued to create Autumn themed creations
  • enjoyed finding objects and sorting them into those that would float and those that would sink in water
  • focused on learning about shapes in a group circle time, naming them, recognising their properties and matching them
  • all of the children have enjoyed spending some one to one time with their key person
  • we are developing name recognition by encouraging the children to register their own name on our welcome tree
  • we have continued to encourage mark making in a variety of different ways and develop fine motor skills
  • we have enjoyed puzzles, games and group games
  • we have enjoyed group games focusing on sound discrimination to help develop listening skills which helps with our phonic activities
  • outside the children have loved riding on the bikes and scooters, their favourite thing (which they made up themselves) is to line themselves up after each other on bikes and then pedal down the small slope and ride round the garden in a circle
  • the children have been threading a lot this week
  • the children have also enjoyed measuring dinosaur bones on our tuff tray

NOTICE: Thank you to all who have purchased Christmas cards, as we have ordered them quite early they should be back soon. We are also sending out save the date invites for the children so please keep an eye out.

Please find keep an eye out on our useful information page for updates, there are new things about to be added!

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing.

Hoping you all have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Hannah, Jackie and Amy
