Weekly Blog: 14th January 2022
This week we have been very busy and enjoyed a lot of activities which have included:
  • talking about road safety and walking to the village church and back and talking a lot about what we could see
  • we learnt all about what opticians do and how we can look after our eyes
  • maths activities included counting the spots on numbered fish and matching them to numerals
  • in the art area the children enjoyed junk modelling
  • refining our gross motor skills during yoga
  • creating pictures for our promise tree
  • listening to story cd's and reading a lot of books
  • circle times included learning about Winter, animals that hibernate. This was followed up by a winter story
  • phonics activities included games such as guess the animal in the glove by the letter sound
  • we listened to calming music and played musical instruments
  • ring games outside
  • the children also enjoyed moving to a variety of different exercises
  • looking at logos and trying to recognise them
  • name recognition activities were also popular this week
  • we also began to learn about space and our solar system
  • completed our daily calendar, sang our hello song and days of the week song and talked about the weather and seasons

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing.

Hoping you all have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Hannah, Jackie and Amy
