This week we have continued to enjoy observing and caring for the chicks and learning all about them, we have all really enjoyed this learning experience and hope to repeat it again in the future.
Alongside this we have:
  • *learnt about why we celebrate Valentines day and made Valentines craft
  • played a mystery game and focused on what animals you would buy when reading the book supermarket zoo
  • enjoyed lots of singing, nursery rhymes and phonic songs
  • as the chicks were bigger this week the children had an opportunity to hold them
  • there has been a lot of building in our new construction area, the children have built with a variety of construction toys including foam bricks, wooden blocks, duplo and sticklebricks
  • the children have carried the construction theme outside and played with diggers and tools in the sandpit and mud kitchen
  • we have enjoyed a lot of pencil control and fine motor activities such as threading
  • as a group we listened to the story Jack and the Beanstalk and then played a game based on positional language "where is Jack?" using various pictures
  • we have used wooden numicon to count different numbers and match these to wooden ladybirds with different numbered spots on
  • for phonics there have been various games based on the aspects of listening and differentiating different sounds
  • the children enjoyed lining up the chairs and role playing going on a bus

  • they colour matched various different objects
  • outside the children have been balancing and playing ring games
  • lots of craft
  • singing, dancing and musical instruments have been popular

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing.
Hoping you all have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Hannah, Jackie and Amy
