Weekly Blog: 3rd May 2024
We have had another busy week and we are continuing our topic of Spring. Our theme of the week has been focused on mathematical skills
Some of the things the children have enjoyed doing include:
  • building with shapes, using shapes in craft and learning shape names and their properties
  • matching and recognising numbers
  • looking at clocks and talking about the time on the hour
  • drawing clock faces
  • learning about and completing repeating patterns
  • playing what's the time Mr Wolf? in the garden
  • completing lots of puzzles
  • phonics games and reading practice
  • enjoying stories and looking at books
  • matching numerals to the correct number of objects
  • going on a shape hunt
  • sorting shapes
  • having fun with numbered boats having races in water play
  • learning about capacity while pouring and measuring
  • lots of fun painting, sticking, gluing and mark making fun
  • lots of circle time and small group games

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing.
Hoping you all have a lovely weekend. Best wishes, Julia, Claire, Hannah, Lisa, Jackie and Adam
