Weekly Blog: 10th May 2024
We have had another busy week and we are continuing our topic of Spring. Our theme of the week has been focused on literacy
Some of the things the children have enjoyed doing include:
  • reading the story the hungry caterpillar
  • posting and matching pictures of food from the story the hungry caterpillar
  • threading beads onto leaves
  • reading the story the gruffalo
  • counting gruffalo pictures
  • painting with different textures
  • reading the story the tiger who came to tea
  • role playing a tiger tea party
  • developing pencil control with tiger sheets
  • reading the story going on a bear hunt
  • role playing going on a bear hunt
  • with each story we have encouraged the children to join in, describe characters and predict what is
  • going to happen next
  • phonics games and reading practice (enjoying stories and looking at books
  • matching numerals to the correct number of objects
  • chalking in the front playground
  • playing in the sandpit
  • water painting in the garden
  • shaving foam fun in the garden
  • lots of fun painting, sticking, gluing and mark making fun
  • lots of circle time and small group games

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing.
