Weekly Blog: 24th March 2023
This week we have had a weekly topic all based around Life cycles. We have:

  • learnt about the life cycles of a butterfly, frog, chicken, plant and human growth. There have been lots of activities linked to learning about these life cycles during circle times
  • the children have been introduced to lots of new vocabulary including words such as "metamorphism" and "cocoon"
  • there has been a lot of pencil control and mark making activities
  • the children talked about what they had eaten at home and we discussed healthy and unhealthy food
  • there has been a lot of number songs, action songs and rhymes
  • the children have enjoyed learning about repeating patterns
  • rhyming games have include matching and suggesting words
  • older children have been introduced to segmenting and blending small words and sounding them out
  • the children have enjoyed investigating our butterfly life cycle tuff tray and also counting and matching shapes on our second tuff tray activity
  • there has been lots of cutting and sticking life cycle pictures
  • the children also planted sunflower seeds to take home
  • had lots of stories, songs and outside time and a lot of fun in the craft area painting, drawing and sticking

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing.
Hoping you all have a lovely weekend.

Best wishes, Julia, Grace, Sharon, Lisa, Hannah and Amy
