Weekly Blog: 19th January 2024
Our theme of the week has been based on the fairy-tale Goldilocks and the three bears.
Some of the things the children have enjoyed doing
include:
- modelling with play dough
- ordering Goldilocks and the three bears pictures in order of size
- role paying the story with bears, bowls, spoons and porridge
- acting out the story as a group
- practicing cutting skills by cutting out pictures based on the story
- lots of mark making and hand writing practice
- tracing words, playing phonic games and letter recognition
- lots of stories, listening games and looking at books
- developing our pencil control by following lines and developing our fine motor skills with activities such as threading
- counting objects and pictures
- making bear masks
- maths activities including counting and number recognition games
- painting
- using wooden blocks to build different houses
- making a fabric collage
- dancing
- talking about personal safety
- lots of child initiated play and free art
As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the
children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's
key person if you would like to have further information about your
child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person
for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for
feedback on how your child is progressing. Hoping you all have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes, Julia, Claire, Hannah, Lisa, Jackie and Adam
